Class Three- Christmas Fair

07 Dec 2023

On Wednesday this week we had our Christmas Fair. As in previous years the children in Year 5 and 6 were asked to take part in an enterprise project.

This year the children split into small groups of 4s or 5s. They first quickly brainstormed ideas for stalls. They then chose their favourite and pitched this idea to Miss Rogers and the rest of the class.

Next came the advertising the children had to create banners and posters for their stall. These had to stick to a theme and give information to people about what the stall involved. Once they had doen this they created rule cards so people would be able to understand what prizes they could win and what they needed to do.

Once they had done these tasks, they had to write a list for Miss Rogers to tell her what they needed to collect from school and anything they needed her to buy from a shop.

Once the planning had been doing came the constructing. The children made  everything they needed for their stalls themselves. Whether that be chimney stacks, a grid with numbers on or a giant Rudolph cut out. I am sure you will agree the stalls all looked fantastic.

On the day itself the children organised the classroom and set up their stalls. They were then in charge of running them, taking money, giving change and awarding prizes.

As a class we raised a good amount if money and the team whose stall made the most money will get a small prize presented to them in Collective Worship.

Next week Miss Rogers and Mr Scott have swapped days, so Mr Scott will be teaching Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday it is Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Lunch,

Have a lovely weekend.
