Thursday 21st January
         Class 4

Good Morning Class 4. I look forward to seeing you all later on our Teams calls. smiley

enlightenedToday looks like...
English - Persuasive writing - pronouns.
Maths - TT rockstars & Fractions problem solving.
1pm Teams call for Year 6.
1.30pm Teams call for Year 5.

Art - Claude Monet painting - lesson 3. (Please send this piece of work to me today. You can do this via email at class4@gfschools.co.uk or upload it to Teams in the 'files' section).

Don't forget that you need to do 30 minutes reading today and some physical exercise too. Look at the home learning tab for information about both of these. Remember, you can do these activities at any point during the day.

Remember to look at the daily Collective Worship. You can find it under the News & Events tab on the website, under School News.

Your lessons for today are...

smileyEnglish

Yesterday, you started your unit on persuasive writing by looking at the features of a persuasive letter. Today we will carry on with this unit but take a grammar focus.

Your learning intention for today's lesson is: To explore pronouns.

Here is the link you need. Remember to pause your video whenever you need to.

These are the answers for yesterday's maths activities:

  -Y6-Fraction-of-an-amount-find-the-whole-answers 20.01.21.pdf-

Today's maths is the last lesson on fractions; it's about problem solving with fractions and using them in different ways.

Here is the Year 6 video to watch...

Year 5, there isn't a video for you as your activity builds on all the previous work we have done on fractions. Some of the questions are tricky, but give it your best shot. We can talk about it this afternoon if you would like.

Here are today's question sheets.

Year 5
  -Yr5-Problem-solving-with-fractions-21.01.21.pdf-

You each have 5 more sessions to complete on TTrockstars today. I will be checking as the day goes on to see how you've done. Here is the link:

Afternoon

This is the third lesson of our unit on Claude Monet.

As usual, I have uploaded a powerpoint which will take you through the lesson. Remember to click on the volume icons on the slides to hear my instructions.

As you know, I planned this unit to teach it in school, and so I am completely happy for you to use whatever resources you have available to you at home.

I was hoping for good weather when I planned this lesson. If the weather is wet (which it looks like it will be) and you can't go outside, then just look out of a window to paint.

This is the piece of work I would like you to send me today.

Have a great day, and I look forward to seeing you all this afternoon. Mrs Barker smileyx
