Class 4 - Our first week

09 Sep 2022

We have had a fantastic first week back in Class 4.

On Tuesday we spent some time getting to know each other and our classroom. We talked about what kind of environment we wanted to learn in and familiarised ourselves with where everything is. Then we made birthday cards for each other. In the afternoon we started on our history topic: The Romans. We spent some time considering where the Roman Invasion fits into the chronology of British History and made timelines.

On Wednesday we started reading our class book: Escape from Rome by Caroline Lawrence. Next week we are going to use this book for inspiration in some of our writing. In the afternoon we did some more work on our topic, this time we explored what life was like in 43AD for The Celts and produced some fantastic information texts.

On Thursday in Maths, we looked at Roman Numerals, which fits in really nicely with our topic work. In the afternoon we practiced our French, naming lots of different fruits, discussed our visions and goals in PSHCE and had lots of fun in P.E.

On Friday we had a special Collective Worship where we remembered the Queen and had the opportunity to ask any questions we may have. We started work on Place Value in Maths and recapped some of our grammar knowledge in English. In the afternoon we got lots of time outside as we were taking part in Forest School.

Well done on a brilliant first week Class 4!

See you next week.

Mrs Glover 😊
