<p>All of our children learned a class dance routine this week with Holly (https://www.mind-body-dance.com/). The children performed their Christmas jumper dance brilliantly and we have shared the film clips of each performance on Youtube.</p>

<p>Congratulations to our amazing Class 1 children who entertained us all with their Wriggly Nativity this week! The children have worked so hard to learn their lines, their songs and their acting parts &#8211; you were fantastic and we are very proud of you all!</p>

<p>A huge well done and thank you to our Class 3 children who walked up to Boroughbridge Manor Care Home to entertain the residents. The children made Christmas cards and messages and gave these to the residents during their visit. We are very proud of the children’s maturity and kindness!</p>

<p>“Oh no, he’s not!” “ Oh, yes he is!” Class 2 and Class 3 children enjoyed a wonderful visit to Harrogate Theatre this week to see Beauty and the Beast. There were lots of laughs with ice-cream too! All of our children would like to say a big thank you to FORCES for fully funding [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week we had a visit from Historical Interpretations for an interactive history day. They delivered a workshop about the Mayan Civilisation to Class 3 in the morning and then the Stone Age to Class 2 in the afternoon, thank you for bringing history to life!</p>

<p>Class 3 enjoyed another fabulous day at QE yesterday making festive bath bombs. Thank you Queen Ethelburga&#8217;s once again for providing our pupils with an amazing experience!</p>

<p>Our Sing Up! children made us very proud this week when they sang Christmas carols at the Boroughbridge Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’ event. Well done Sing Up! Choir &#8211; this is a great rehearsal for our performance at Young Voices in February!</p>

<p>Our Faith Council children and Class 3 children have helped us to decorate our Christmas tree entry for this year&#8217;s Christmas Tree Festival. This will take place over this weekend and our children and their families are invited to vote for our Roecliffe Christmas tree. <p>Thank you to Queen Ethelburga&#8217;s for hosting our Class 3 pupils yesterday as part of their Outreach Programme. Class 3 enjoyed a day of festive window artwork! &nbsp;</p>

<p>Thank you to all the children wearing odd socks yesterday to celebrate what makes us all unique for the start of our anti-bullying week.</p>

<p>Beth from Phunky Foods worked with Class 3 yesterday to make some traditional African recipes, this follows their learning of Africa last half term. The children enjoyed trying the new tastes! Recipes were sent home to Class 3 parents if you wish to try these at home.</p>

<p>PCSO Martin Powell came into school this week to talk about consent with Class 2 and Class 3 children and that ‘no means no’. There was lots of interesting and useful discussion that took place about personal space and that we need to speak out if we feel uncomfortable about what someone says or does. [&hellip;]</p>

These amazing athletes took part in a Sporting Influence netball tournament at Boroughbridge High School this week. <p>In Class 1 we have been learning about baptisms and christenings in RE, yesterday we went across to St Mary&#8217;s church and had our very own baptism! Thank you Rev Ian Pruden for baptising our baby.</p>

<p>A huge well done to our four Wellbeing Ambassadors, Ella-Rose, Tahlia, Freddy and Christopher, who delivered a fantastic presentation about Healthy Breakfasts to parents/ carers, staff and pupils in a special Collective Worship on Thursday. <p>Some of our Year 3,4 5 +6 pupils took part in a football competition today at Borourghbridge High School organised by Sporting Influence. Well done everyone that took part!</p>

<p>Many thanks to all our parents/ carers and family members who joined us today at our harvest Festival at St Mary’s church. The children sang beautifully and did a great job of showing us what Harvest means to us at Roecliffe.</p>

<p>Congratulations to the children who were in Class 1 last year for being awarded second place for their ‘Day on a Farm’ picture at the Boroughbridge &amp; Aldborough Show during the summer holiday. Well done to those children!</p>

<p>What a fantastic start to the school year &#8211; sunshine and smiles! We have enjoyed greeting all our children and their families back to school this morning and our school is once again full of happiness and hard work!</p>

<p>Thank you to Roecliffe staff and Born of the Forest for providing three whole days of Forest School games and activities at Badger Wood this week. Fortunately, the weather has been kind to us this week and all our children enjoyed being busy outside and getting muddy in the woods!</p>
