Class 2 - Bringing History to Life with a Trip to Fountains Abbey!

Class 2 had a wonderful trip to Fountains Abbey today, and it was a brilliant way to see our classroom learning in the real world! We began our morning with a tour of the abbey, exploring the different rooms and learning about all the features we had spotted on our maps earlier this term.

After a lovely lunch sat on the grass in the beautiful gardens, we headed over to explore Fountains Mill. The children spent the afternoon being very creative, sketching the abbey from different angles to capture its scale and beauty.

We finished our successful day with some fun in the play park and a quick visit to the shop to choose a souvenir. The children were fantastic representatives of the school and thoroughly enjoyed their day out. It was a very enjoyable trip and a real treat to see the children so engaged with their local history!
