Week 1
Class one has had an action-packed week. We have enjoyed being back at school and sharing all of the exciting things we did in our week off. It sounds like you all had lots of fun and were very busy. Week 8
Wow, well we have made it! What a half-term it has been. The children have made us so proud with how well they have settled into school and got stuck in. Class 1- Week 7 DT Week
What a wonderful week we have had this week! The children have enjoyed DT week learning lots about seasonality and making some yummy food. In reception we made a delicious apple cake. They helped to weigh out the ingredients, add them to the bowl, mix it and then add the sliced apple. After cooking, we enjoyed eating it! In KS1, we made kebabs. Week 6
This week we have been embracing Autumn. We have talked about signs of Autumn and spent time noticing the seasonal change. The children have enjoyed creating with the leaves, collecting acorns and using Autumnal resources to count and play. Week 5
This week has been another lovely week in class one! In Maths, this week we have been looking at number bonds, adding and doubles. The children have enjoyed some creating addition fact families together. They have been working hard with lots of practical resources. In French, we have been practicing our greetings. Week 4
Reception have enjoyed another busy week. We have been busy in our areas making lots of lovely creations. In our learning, we have been talking about our families. Bolton Castle Trip
KS1 had a magical day at Bolton Castle. The children loved looking around, learning about life in the castle and looking at artefacts. It was also so lovely to be joined by North Stainley and Grewelthorpe. We started the day by meeting Master David and his wife Sue who talked to us about the castle and showed us the entrance called the Portcullis. Week 3
We have had another wonderful week in class one! In English, for several weeks now we have been learning about traditional tales. In our lessons, we have read many traditional tales, considering the audience, purpose and features of the book. This week, we have thought about the vocabulary that is used in the stories. The children have also learnt about the coordinating conjunction, "and", which they are going to use in their writing.
