This week, we have enjoyed art week which focused on printing.
In year one and two, we began by studying the artist Andy Warhol and his artwork inspiration. The children spent time researching his life and work, focusing on his printwork of the cans of soup.
All of the children then explored using different materials to print with, including fruits and vegetables, bottle tops, stamps and lego bricks. They used different colours and made interesting pieces.
Finally, year one and two created our own printing stamps using styrofoam and cardboard, selecting Christmas shapes to make wrapping paper. We then used different colours to print in the style of Andy Warhol and made some lovely wrapping paper.
In their areas, the reception have enjoyed taking their learning in phonics and maths further and exploring it in their play. They have spent lots of time roleplaying phonics lessons and creating pictures with 2D shapes.
