Week 6- Art Week
We’ve had such a creative week in class one with Art week! Class One has been looking into the concept of home by exploring the expressive artwork of painter Hurvin Anderson. He is inspired by his Jamaican heritage and connections to the Windrush generation, the children talked about how bold colours, textures, and personal memories can express what home and belonging mean to them.
They've been busy putting new painting techniques into practice—experimenting with thin brush details, wide strokes, splattering, and pouring paint to support them to create their very own masterpiece of home.
Meanwhile, in continuous provision, our Reception children had a brilliant time exploring colour mixing through layer painting, working together to add fresh paint and vibrant shades to the same giant sheet of paper every single day. They also explored colour mixing and some different paintbrush techniques.
