This week we have been doing lots of lovely writing. In year one and two, we have been writing adventure stories. We began at the start of term by reading lots of adventure stories, identifying the audience, purpose and key features. Then we learned how to use apostrophes for contracted forms, we challenged ourselves to use at least one when writing our story. Finally, this week we planned and wrote our wonderful narratives.
In Geography, we have all been learning about Africa. Reception have begun to compare Africa to the UK. They looked at lots of images of Africa whilst thinking about how different it is and whether there are any similarities. Meanwhile, Year one and two have been looking at the village Mugurameno. A small village in Zambia, Africa. We discussed similarities and differences also by using images. Then took it further by considering the human and physical features of Mugurameno as well as the weather.
In our areas, we have enjoyed continuing our learning in maths by making our own speckled frogs and singing the song with puppets and a pond. We have also been busy making lots of lovely pictures and caring for baby Rosie.
