Week 1

Class one has had a great first week back. We have enjoyed catching up on our few weeks off and seeing our friends again.

In our mastery maths, KS1 have been looking at the composition of the number 7. We have used the stem sentences “7 is made of ______ and ______” and “______ and ______ make 7”. The children have used the rekenreks and dice frames to represent the numbers. It is lovely to see their confidence in these recall facts grow.

In reception, we have been excited to start learning some phase 3 digraphs. The children are enjoying the catch phrases that go with each one. Their phonic knowledge has progressed so much in such a short space of time and we couldn’t be prouder of them.

In our areas, the children have spent time making castles with the blocks, creating with the Lego and brio construction. We have also enjoyed role-playing doctors.
