This week we have been working incredibly hard in English and Maths and have been revising some of the topics we learnt in earlier in the year.
In Maths, we have looked at fractions, long multiplication, roman numerals, area, perimeter, circles and percentages. It was lovely to see how much the children had remembered from our previous work on these topics and to see how their confidence had grown. The Year 6s then applied this knowledge to some practise SATs papers, ready for next week.
In English, the children had suggested topics they wanted to look at again and we spent a big part of the week looking at word class. We recapped nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, determiners, prepositions conjunctions and pronouns. We were able to define each one and find examples in sentences. Then, we looked at punctuation marks and when we would use each type of mark. As if that wasn't enough for a week, we have also looked at modal verbs, relative clauses and parenthesis.
We finished a very busy week, with lots of quizzes and a game of hidden box. Which the children were really engaged with and asked to play again. It was brilliant to see such enthusiasm and team work.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you all next week, when we wish the year 6s good luck with their tests and show everyone what they are capable of.
Mrs Sumner
