This week we have continued our learning about Maya. We have spent time finding out and reasearching their Gods. The children then put this information into a double page spread.

We understood how important religion was to the Maya people and how this was shown through their everyday lives. We listened to the Maya Creation story and found out the Maya Gods tried to create humans in 3 ways.

The Maya had over 150 Gods, the children focused on a few of those, finding out what they were the God of, what they looked like and what they did.

We also researched what the Maya did for their Gods, this included giving them offerings and sacrifices. For some reason the stories of blood and organs really thrilled the children.

In our second history lesson this week, we looked at Maya's cities. Each city had its own leader and rules, but they all shared beliefs. We spent time investigating the different buildings that would be in the Maya city and what they were used for. Next week, we are going to try and build these cities.

As well as History this week, we have had a big push on revising some of our earlier Grammar work. There are a lot of terms to remember and the children have been working hard on remembering and applying these.

Have a super 3 day weekend!
