It has been another lovely week in class one. We are enjoying the sunshine! The children have spent time outside looking at signs of spring and discussing the seasonal and weather changes we expect to see. Year one and two took this further, considering how the daylight changes with the seasonal change. We get to enjoy longer days!

In RE, we enjoyed learning about the importance of Easter. Reception have been looking at “Why do Christians put a cross in a Easter Garden?” and KS1 investigated “Why does Easter matter to Christians?”. Over several weeks, we have listened to and explored the story. Last week, we played a game of pass the parcel with each layer unwrapping an event that happened over the week. This week, we liked thinking about how Easter is celebrated. We wrote down our ideas then enjoyed making some decorations for a special tree.

In computing, we have been looking at interpreting pictograms. The children have enjoyed creating tally charts this week on the favourite colour by asking children across school. After collecting our data, we then used the computers to make pictograms to represent our data. We then spent time interpretting this, thinking about which is most popular.
