We have had a lovely week in Class Three, on Tuesday we went to Lime Tree Farm to visit their planetarium. We learnt so much about the stars and constellations, we then learnt about our solar system including the sun and planets. The children created a model of our solar system, with them being the planets, to help them understand the distances between the planets. The children behaved really well. This trip was the launch for our Earth & Space Science topic which we will start on Friday.
On Thursday, it was World Book Day. It was really lovely to see the children so engaged and having fun. We started our day with book puzzles including word searches and code breaking. Then we got into groups for some challenges, we completed a book emoji quiz, lots of the teams got all of the book titles. After that, we joined the Premier League and lots of schools around the country in an online football/book quiz. The teams were very competitive and we scored very well. We finished this session with a Where's Wally scavenger hunt outside, as a whole school.
After break, we were very lucky to be joined by an author, who ran a theatre workshop. We used our body for physical theatre and used our imaginations to create ideas of our own.
After lunch we had our Collective Worship and showed off our costumes and talked about reading for pleasure. Finally, we joined Class 2 and each made a potato book character. the Reading Mentors had a tricky job deciding on 1 winner for each class.
Next week is Parents Evening and Class Three have an RE workshop on Wednesday, looking at the life of Jesus. On Thursday they are taking part in a money workshop, looking at budgeting in a real life scenario.
Have a lovely weekend!
