To see the process in action, the children smashed up bananas to mimic how we chew our food. They then passed the mixture through a pair of tights to understand how the digestive system filters what we eat. This week we have been supporting the Children's mental health charity Place2Be which has set up Children's Mental Health Week. Its aim is to highlight the importance of mental health within children and young people. We have spent time learning about mental health and well-being. We have discussed how we can promote our mental health by getting outside, getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, spending time with friends, doing things we enjoy and reducing screen time. T

Class 2 have had a very creative week. The children have been exploring how to show movement in their drawing and art. The children have have learnt how to mix secondary and tertiary colours and how they can add white and black for tomes and shades. We learnt about the work of Peter Doig who paints Alpine landscapes. This week has been art week. We have really enjoyed this unit on painting. Reception have explore painting with different materials, mixing colours and thinking about their style of painting. Today, Friday the 6th of February, we celebrated Number Day to raise money for the charity NSPCC, whose aim is to help children and protect children from harm. To support our fundraising, we came in number related outfits or as rockstars and brought in a donation. The children had some amazing outfits. Thank you for all of your effort! We have finished Geography and have now begun our Science work, focusing on meterials and their properties. Well we have had our most busy week so far! It has been action packed but so much fun. On Tuesday, we performed our Nativity. The children did the most amazing job, we couldn't have been prouder.
