<p>Thank you to Queen Ethelburga&#8217;s for hosting our Class 3 pupils yesterday as part of their Outreach Programme. Class 3 enjoyed a day of festive window artwork! &nbsp;</p>

<p>Thank you to all the children wearing odd socks yesterday to celebrate what makes us all unique for the start of our anti-bullying week.</p>

<p>Beth from Phunky Foods worked with Class 3 yesterday to make some traditional African recipes, this follows their learning of Africa last half term. The children enjoyed trying the new tastes! Recipes were sent home to Class 3 parents if you wish to try these at home.</p>

<p>PCSO Martin Powell came into school this week to talk about consent with Class 2 and Class 3 children and that ‘no means no’. There was lots of interesting and useful discussion that took place about personal space and that we need to speak out if we feel uncomfortable about what someone says or does. [&hellip;]</p>

These amazing athletes took part in a Sporting Influence netball tournament at Boroughbridge High School this week. <p>We are delighted to shout it from the rooftops that, for the second year running, Roboodles our Before and After School Club, has been awarded the National ‘Out of School Club of the Year 2024’ Award! Roboodles also won National ‘Inclusive Setting’ of the Year Award 2024 and received the Highly Commended ‘Mental Health and [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In Class 1 we have been learning about baptisms and christenings in RE, yesterday we went across to St Mary&#8217;s church and had our very own baptism! Thank you Rev Ian Pruden for baptising our baby.</p>

<p>A huge well done to our four Wellbeing Ambassadors, Ella-Rose, Tahlia, Freddy and Christopher, who delivered a fantastic presentation about Healthy Breakfasts to parents/ carers, staff and pupils in a special Collective Worship on Thursday. <p>Some of our Year 3,4 5 +6 pupils took part in a football competition today at Borourghbridge High School organised by Sporting Influence. Well done everyone that took part!</p>

<p>Many thanks to all our parents/ carers and family members who joined us today at our harvest Festival at St Mary’s church. The children sang beautifully and did a great job of showing us what Harvest means to us at Roecliffe.</p>

<p>Congratulations to the children who were in Class 1 last year for being awarded second place for their ‘Day on a Farm’ picture at the Boroughbridge &amp; Aldborough Show during the summer holiday. Well done to those children!</p>

<p>What a fantastic start to the school year &#8211; sunshine and smiles! We have enjoyed greeting all our children and their families back to school this morning and our school is once again full of happiness and hard work!</p>

<p>Thank you to Roecliffe staff and Born of the Forest for providing three whole days of Forest School games and activities at Badger Wood this week. Fortunately, the weather has been kind to us this week and all our children enjoyed being busy outside and getting muddy in the woods!</p>

<p>Congratulations to some of our Year 4 and Year 5 children for completing their training and becoming fully fledged and qualified Digital Leaders. These children have regularly met with Mrs Briggs to complete eight modules of Digital Leader training which is provided by Childnet. <p>Our Year 6 children enjoyed a morning of bowling yesterday, followed by slushies and lunch! Thank you to FORCES for funding this!</p>

<p>Thank you to Mrs Barrett for organising a wonderful Nursery Graduation for all our fabulous Nursery children this week. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as parents/carers and family members joined Mrs Barrett in celebrating the end of one chapter for our wonderful Nursery children and the start of another.</p>

<p>Class 2 have been learning all about James Herriot and yesterday they visited the museum in Thirsk. They had lots of fun learning all about him and about life as a vet!</p>

<p>Thank you so much to all our family members and friends who joined us for our annual Sports Day afternoon on Friday. We had lots of fun taking part in various sports events on our village green!</p>

<p>Our Year 6 children took part in the Crucial Crew event this week which was organised by North Yorkshire Police. This transition event helped our Year 6 children understand more about making the right choices as we grow older through various workshops</p>
