With the tree lights twinkling and the advent calendar nearing the end, Class Three have certainly squeezed a lot into the last week of this term.

In maths, we looked at multiplying large numbers by 1 and 2 digits. Before moving onto short division, using the bus stop method.

In English, we were thinking about instructions and with it being Christmas we have used Dr Seuss' How the Grinch stole Christmas as our inspiration. The children looked closely at the features of more typical instructions and we then looked at time conjunctions, adverbials and imperative verbs. After carefully planning their ideas, the children produced some fantastic written pieces, which not only look great but also showcase the learning we have done.

On top of that we had our Christmas Party on Thursday morning, party lunch at lunchtime and watched the Jim Carrey version of the Grinch on Thursday afternoon. During the afternoon we had a very special visitor to school. Santa came and brought Class 3 some super gifts. It was brilliant to see the children so excited and happy with their gifts.

On Friday morning, we got ourselves into groups and took part in Miss Rogers' Big Fat Christmas Quiz of the Year' There were music rounds, picture rounds, movie rounds as well as lots of general knowledge questions. In the afternoon, we had our final Forest School session.

I hope everyone has a lovely and restful Christmas break and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 6th January 2026 (Monday 5th is a training day)
