We have finished Geography and have now begun our Science work, focusing on meterials and their properties. Lesson 1 was a very practical lesson where the children explored how they could group materials based on their properties.
In this lesson, we tested the hardness and transparency of a range of materials. We looked at whether things were magnetic, if they could conduct electricity and if they were thermal conductors. The children were really engaged!
On Friday, it was NSPCC Number Day. We spent the morning taking parts in maths activties. There was a TTRockstars battle between KS2 at Fountains, Grewelthorpe and North Stainley. Our class completed a Maths version of Who Wants To be a Millionaire, we used maths to create art and played some dice games.
Have a great weekend!
Next week is slightly different I (Miss Rogers) am in Monday- Wednesday. Miss Todd will be in on Friday, instead of Monday. This means the children have extra time to complete their homework and learn their spellings.
