Team work and hibernation

31 Jan 2024

In PSHE, our Jigsaw piece has been Dreams and Goals. Within this unit, we have been focusing on how we set and achieve a goal. The children have set goals then discussed how they were going to achieve them. The children's goals ranged from learning a magic trick to memorising a poem. This week we have been working together to reach a goal. We were set the challenge of making a bird in a small team. The aim was to work as a group as collaboratively as we could.

In English, our focus has been hibernation. Over the last few weeks, we have learnt lots of information about what hibernation is to then apply to our writing. The children have worked hard to develop their writing, extending sentences to add detail and make them more interesting. We have also been using a range of punctuation: commas, exclamation marks, questions and full stops. This week, we wrote our non-fiction reports on hibernation.

In our areas, we have been extremely busy. The children have reorganised the home corner, written stories and created our own magic trick game by hiding the dice.

In class one, we have reorganised our home corner. During this process, we have discussed some of the things we could add and I wondered if anybody may have any of these items to kindly donate:
  • Pyjamas
  • Children's magazine
  • Dog bed, lead, collar and bowl
  • Costume jewellery
  • Accessories (ties, hats etc.)
  • Lamps
Have a lovely weekend!
