First week back in class 1

In Maths, this week we have started our new topics on number with Reception focusing on numbers to 10 and Year one learning about numbers to 20. We have really enjoyed showing off our counting skills and beginning to think about the place value of each number.
Reception have found different ways of making numbers, using groups of they created the whole number. Whilst Year 1 began by finding missing numbers and practising counting to 20 and back from 20 to 0. We used different resources to make numbers and practiced writing them.
The children have also particulalry enjoyed using their areas this week. They had great fun using our present from Santa to make cars, rockets, helicopters and much more. They liked using the tools to help them.
In the creative area, the children have been using powder paints which has really sparked their imaginations. The children have made rainbows, dogs, presents and much more!
Unfortunately due to the hall schedule, our PE sessions have been moved to a Tuesday instead of Wednesday.
