The first week back!

10 Mar 2021

  Welcome Back to Class 1

What a busy week we have had in class 1! It is so nice to be back together and we have settled back into our routines and enjoyed being with our friends again.

The adventure began when we found a treasure map...

The pirates had been to visit and they made some changes in our classroom... We have had lots of fun making our own pirate adventures in the role play area.

We shared a story 'The Pirates of Scurvy Sands' and made story maps and looked at what the characters looked like. We also showed our super writing and made a list of the things we might need to take on our own pirate adventure.

All good pirates need a telescope, a treasure chest and a pirate flag so we made our own!

In phonics this week we have continued to revisit our phonemes:

sh                 ch                   th                  ng

In maths this week we have been using our counting skills to see how much treasure we had collected and representing the numbers to 10 in different ways.

Your challenge this weekend is to make some pirate treasure. Cut out some golden coins and write a word with one of phonemes on each coin. See how many different words you can think of, on Monday we will see how much pirate treasure we have collected!

Class 1 are looking for treasure... please can you have a look to see if you have any of the following items that you don't want anymore and send them in:

junk boxes
plastic bottles
buttons
nuts and bolts
cardboard tubes
golf tees

Next Friday is Red Nose Day where we will be doing some fun activities and sharing a smile so please bring your best joke smiley
It is a non uniform day where you can dress as your favourite superhero or a super you!!

Have a lovely weekend, see you all again on Monday!
