RE and Geography

07 Jun 2023

Another super week!

In RE, we began our new unit. Our big question is How do we care for the world and others, and why does it matter? On Tuesday, we began to answer this question by considering who is valuable and unique. We discussed how everybody is different and they are each special for different reasons. The children wrote down reasons why they are valuable and unique. Some of their ideas included
  • I am funny.
  • I am kind.
  • i am good at football.
  • I am helpful.
  • I am good at farming.

Over the next few weeks we will continue to explore this topic more.

In Geography, we began our learning on field skills. The children looked at how a compass is used to read a map on Thursday. We looked at maps of the area and identified key places. On Friday, we examined the maps again looking for human ad physical features. Human features were things like houses, our school, the park and so on. Whereas physical features included trees, grass, forests and much more.

In our areas, we have had lots of fun. We have enjoyed roleplaying in the garden centre, we have planted some flowers and seeds to sell to our customers. We are loving playing outside on the bikes, in the water and making with the large construction.
