Our history topic this half term is the Tudors. The children have already discovered what an interesting era this was and it is great to see their enthusiasm to learn more.

Last week, we each created a timeline to show where the Tudors fit in relation to all the history we have done during our time at Fountains. In our lesson on Wednesday, we researched the Battle of Bosworth and found out why it was so significant.

This week, the children created a Tudor family tree. We found out about Henry eighths parents, siblings, wives and children. There were a lot of questions over his tree. Did you know he married his brother's widow? Or that he had 6 wives?

As well as the family tree, we answered the question what was life like in Tudor times. We found out that there was a huge divide between the rich and the poor at this time and we all agreed it would have been much easier and more pleasant to be in the rich group. We hope when we go on our trip to Castle Bolton that we are not made to be poor Tudors.

The children should have come home this week with copies of our timetable and learning overview. These are also on the website on the Class Three- Curriculum tab.

Have a great weekend!
