This week we are even prouder of our Year 6 children than normal and we are very proud of them usually. They have all worked so hard and done their best on their SATs. Well done!

As a reward for this hard work on Friday we spent time in the morning doing Computing and playing rounders. The afternoon saw the classroom turned into a cinema, complete with popcorn, sweets and juice and we all enjoyed a film.

When we haven't been working quietly or doing assessments we continued our work in Science, answering the question ' How does the human body keep us alive?'

We looked at things which effect our bodies including: diet, exercise, drugs, sleep, hygiene and technology.

This work finished with us looking at how our bodies absorb nutrients and water. We sorted foods into different nutritional groups and researched what our bodies got from each of the nutrients. We then found out about the digestive system, which allows our bodies to absorb these nutrients. We labelled the system and then described how it works.

We will complete a quiz next week to demonstrate our understanding of this unit.
