We have begun our next unit in Science, we are looking at electricity. The unit began by us checking we understood some key vocabulary and making sure we had remembered our work form year 4 when we built simple circuits.
We explored what happened when we added more cells to a circuit with a bulb and then a buzzer in it. We then investigated what happened when we increased the voltage of a cell in a circuit with a bulb and then with a buzzer.
In our next lesson, we investigated what happened when we added more components to a circuit. We found out about how switches work and when you may need to include one in a circuit.
Then we learnt about the different symbols that are used with electricity, we thought about why people would use symbols and why they are helpful. We then drew circuits containing different arrangements of items.
