This week in Class 2…

In PE we are starting to learn to skills involved in playing netball. We worked together in groups to practice passing using chest and shoulder passes. We know that in netball we are not allowed to move with the ball and so we explored how we can use passes to move the ball around the court with some control.

We have been busy over the last few weeks with our science topic about animals. We have been working towards answering the big question ‘How do animals, including humans, get the food and support they need to survive?’

We have looked at different food groups and what makes a balanced diet. We enjoyed finding out the different nutritional values of some of the foods we eat and comparing saturated and un saturated fats. We also carried out an investigation to see if foods containing high saturated fat also had high levels of unsaturated fat.

We then looked at bones and muscles. We used research to explore bones and the different types of skeleton and sorted different animals by the type of skeleton they have.

We then made a model to demonstrate how muscles work to help us move.
