MATHS IS EVERYWHERE!

Home learning task

In school this week, we thought about where and how we can see maths. We have learnt that it is not just the numbers and calculations we learn about in lessons, but it is all around us: in the buildings we live and learn in; in nature which surrounds us; inside the computer programming that enables our technology to work; even in our bodies and brains!

To enrich our learning, we would like you to carry on thinking about maths and where you can find it in your lives outside school!

So, during the half term, please try and take some pictures of maths that you find– it might be a symmetrical flower, an architectural interest or maybe some numbers or measurements you spot whilst being out and about.

Please snap away and send your pictures to school at: f-admin@gfnsschools.co.uk

We will then print them and add to our school display. It would be fantastic if every child could add at least one picture. (If it is easier to draw the image or print one at home - that would be equally great.)

Happy hunting! We look forward to seeing all the wonderful maths you spot.
