Class one had a fantastic time at North Stainley for our career day. The class one children enjoyed learning about the role of the police officer. We talked about when the police should be contacted and how we do that as well as some of their responsibilities. After that we spoke to Mrs Simpson a librarian, she talked to us about her job and how the library can be used. She also visited us later in the week to show us some of the libraries lovely books and we all borrowed one.
Mrs Smith showed us some of the equipment she uses to test people's eyes. We learnt that children can be tested using pictures and its important to check we can see in 3D at our age. The children asked some very good questions.
In the afternoon, we had a visit from Mr Cox who talked to us about being a farrier. He showed us the tools and equipment he uses to shoe horses. The children found it very interesting. They talked about the different shapes and sizes of the shoes. Meanwhile, (another) Mr Cox spoke about being a vet. He had been a vet for nearly 50 years! It was a fantastic day and the children were very excited to learn about lots of different jobs.
