This week, our Reception have been exploring the number 5! We were learning to count objects, sounds, and actions accurately—tagging each item once and only once. Children made collections of 5 using counters, dice patterns, and their fingers, while discovering that two hands of 5 make 10 altogether.

Meanwhile, KS1 have been looking at place value with a focus on counting in tens and partitioning numbers into tens and ones. They used based 10 to help them and place value charts.

In PSHE, we have started a new Jigsaw piece on "Celebrating Difference". Reception children have been sharing what they are good at (we are a talented bunch!) and exploring how their individual strengths make everyone unique. Year 1 and Year 2 took this a step further by working with partners to celebrate their individual talents while also discovering all the wonderful ways they are similar to one another.
