This week has been busy in class one. We tried very hard to be quiet in the mornings because of the year six SATs. The children have done a great job.

In reception and year one we have been working hard in phonics. Reception have been writing long wards like “snapping” and “jumping” which has been challenging but we have persevered. Meanwhile in year one, we are revising to get ready for the phonics screening check. The children are doing a fantastic job.

In year two, they have enjoyed a guided reading text on the Great Fire of London. They love sharing the story together, using expression to read.

In PE, we have been doing striking and fielding. This week we had a particular focus on striking. The children did a fantastic job of using the tennis racket to hit the ball.
