Week 3
In Geography, we’ve been exploring the world around us through our big question: “Where in the world are we?” Over the past few weeks, we’ve learned about world oceans, continents, and the countries that make up the UK. This week, we brought things closer to home to look at human and physical features in our local area—and even went on a walk around the village to spot them in real life! The children enjoyed exploring the village and pointing out the landmarks.
In English, we have been writing our own traditional tales. We have spent time looking at identifying traditional tales, considering the features of the stories, their audience and purpose. This all supported us to plan and write stories of our own.
In our areas, we have created some lovely pictures of the countryside around us. The children did a fantastic job of painting these. We have also enjoyed sharing stories together and practicing our letters.
