We have just finished writing our narratives with a mythical creature in them. We were inspired by the book Malamander, which we have been reading in class.

In the build up to writing our own narratives, we looked at writing dialogue. We made sure to use the correct punctuation and ensured there was a purpose to the dialogue. Did it move the story on.

We wrote descriptions of the creatures that would feature in our own stories.

Then we looked at ways in which we could build tension and suspense. We found out that we could use different punctuation, vary the lengths of our sentences and by choosing our words carefully we could create ideas which were full of tension and would make our reader want to read on.

Here are our narratives....

As well as brilliant English work, we also took part in a TTRockstars competition. I am very pleased to say we finished 23rd out of all the schools in Yorkshire and Humber. At Fountains, our top scorers were Charlie D, Seb and George D. Well done boys and well done to everyone for trying hard and pulling together to try and get the best score you could.

Have a great weekend, next week is art week.
