This week it has been Art Week in school. We have been focusing on pattern and print making.

We looked at famous printer William Morris, the children researched William Morris and found out lots of interesting information about him and his artwork.

We then explored lots of different printing techniques. Mono printing with stencils, mono printing with line drawing, relief printing, impressed printing and layer printing. Some of these were tricky to get right. But the children really enjoyed having a go and showed great resilience if things didn't go as they expected.

Next, we began designing our own printing piece of art. We had Christmas as our theme and carefully drew designs labelling the different techniques we would use.

Thursday, we turned out designs into reality, using the printing techniques we had practised earlier in the week.

Next week it is assessment week and we look forward to seeing the children try their best and show us how well they can do. After all that hard work the children will deserve a treat and what better treat than going to the pantomine! On Friday, the whole school is going to watch Jack and the Beanstalk.

For your diary- There will be no Forest Schools for Class 3 on Friday 5th (Panto) and Friday 12th (Christmas Fair). But they will be doing Forest Schools on Friday 19th and finishing in time for our 3pm finish.

Have a great weekend!
