Class 2 - RE

We have made a super start exploring our enquiry question in RE:  "What do Christians Learn from the Creation Story?" We began by recapping that the Creation story is at the beginning of the Bible and that it teaches Christians that God made everything in the world and universe. We then used our drawing skills to create images of God's creations, and thought about the beauty of nature and how fascinating all life can be! 

This week, the children then continued to explore our question by considering how Christians know that God cares for his creation. We did this in two ways: First of all we looked at the bible story, Genesis, and spotted that God described his work as good or very good many times! We then put this to the test by becoming creators ourselves. We all made an animal or plant from Lego; creating unique new species! We explored then how we felt about our creations and realised that we were very proud and protective of our creations, especially when it had been tricky! So maybe God would also have felt the same way. 

Next, we are going to explore what the Bible teaches Christians about Humans, and their responsibilities to the other living things in the world before finally exploring what this means for Christians and their beliefs and actions. The children have already really impressed us with their deep thinking. Many have asked some fantastic questions, some of my favourite have been: "Who made God?" and "How did God make the world?"
