On Wednesday, Class 2 (alongside Class 3) set off on an inspiring cultural adventure to Leeds Art Gallery. It was a day packed with creativity, curiosity, and discovery!

Morning Sketching

We spent our morning exploring the magnificent collection, immersing ourselves in many different styles of art. The children marvelled at traditional landscapes, grand Victorian paintings, striking portraits, and fascinating modern sculptures. Inspired by what they saw, the children found their favourite spots around the gallery and spent time sketching the artworks that intrigued them the most.

Becoming "Art Detectives"

In the afternoon, our learning went even deeper with a guided tour led by an art expert. The children learned so many new things as they were challenged to put their "art detective skills" to the test—looking for clues to uncover the hidden stories behind each piece. They were encouraged to work together, ask insightful questions about the sculptures, and stay curious about everything they saw.

Overall, it was a thoroughly fantastic day out. The children had a wonderful time and represented Fountains School beautifully with their lovely manners and enthusiasm for the arts. Well done, everyone!
