This week, the children in Class Two spent the whole week focusing on art and creativity. Our learning was linked to Black History Month, and we explored the powerful story of the Windrush generation.

On Tuesday, we were treated to a very special experience when one of our parents kindly provided a selection of Caribbean fruits, cake and juices for the children to try. We are extremely grateful for this thoughtful contribution, which brought our learning to life in such a meaningful way. A huge thank you to this parent for their kindness and generosity!

The children then studied the work of Denzil Forrester, learning different artistic techniques using sketching, watercolour and oil pastels. They explored how different lines and marks can show movement, and how colours can be used to express different emotions. These ideas came together beautifully in their final piece of artwork on Friday.

It was a really lovely and creative week in Class Two, thoroughly enjoyed by both pupils and staff.
