Class 2 Art Week

It has been a very creative week in Class 2. The children have been exploring different printing techniques and learning new skills. We looked at the art of Henri Matisse and discussed the printing techniques he used to create some of his art. At the start of the week the children learnt the technique of mono-printing. After their initial prints, the children used mono-printing to create a background for their picture. They then made a printing plate out of card and string that they could use as a relief print. They have created some fabulous pictures. As the week progressed the children used polystyrene tiles to make impressed prints which we will use a basis for our Christmas cards.
