Class one had a wonderful time on Friday with artist, Liz Harvey. They learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed a day of art. We began by exploring with pencils, looking at different techniques before drawing some of the natural objects we had brought into school. Following that, some of us drew round our hands and created some work all about us by drawing images that represented the things we like. After playtime, we explored techniques with water colours. We experimented with the paintbrush and mixing colour. After that, we made a little book of our techniques, a "sketch book".

After Lunch, we painted some beautiful tulips. We practiced "wet on wet" which is where the paper is wettened first then watercolour applied to see how that changed the outcome. Finally, we used charcoal to draw some lovely shells.
