<p>The snow has brought an ‘interesting’ twist to the end of another very busy week at Roecliffe! We certainly made the most of the white stuff whilst it lasted!</p>

<p>We have braved the weather to complete our Star Jump Challenge today as part of our health &amp; wellbeing drive. Every child from nursery to year 6 took part. <p>Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our &#8216;Books and Breakfast&#8217; event this morning, money raised will go towards the &#8216;Read for Good&#8217; charity. &nbsp;</p>

<p>A huge well done to everyone at Roecliffe for celebrating World Book Day 2023 in style! Our Readathon this week is raising money for books for children in UK hospitals. <p>We enjoyed rounding off our week and our half term with a ‘Cosy Clothes Day’ for ultimate relaxation and comfort!</p>

<p>Thank you to Dr Helen Spencer for teaching us how to improve and maintain our positive mental health. Thank you also to Mrs Barrett for showing us how to relax, be mindful and meditate.</p>

<p>Sing Up! Choir members are making their way to Sheffield Arena today to take part in the Young Voices 2023 event with 5000 other school children! We are so excited and we are looking forward to performing all our songs and dances to parents and family members this evening!</p>

<p>Class 3 children enjoyed taking part in multi sports activities and creating a healthy meal at the QE Healthy Lifestyles and Wellbeing Outreach Enrichment day.</p>

<p>We really enjoyed taking part in the Dance Festival today which was organised by Sporting Influence.</p>

<p>Class 1 have enjoyed some treats in celebration of Chinese New Year. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Class 1 have adopted a little bit of Danish ‘hygge’ into their day. hygge noun a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).</p>

<p>&nbsp; We all enjoyed learning about how to keep ourselves safe with PC Gudger today.</p>

<p>In Collective Worship with Rev Karen today we learned about John baptising Jesus in the River Jordan. This Bible story helped us to think about fresh starts and resolutions for the new year.</p>

<p>Congratulations to Fabian in Class 2 who is the winner of the Taylor Wimpey Design a Speed Sign Competition for their new housing development at Aldborough Gate. We are so very proud of this talented young man! &nbsp;</p>

<p>Reception and Year 1 children have been busy creating images in their computing lesson today. &nbsp;</p>

<p>From all the staff and governors at Roecliffe we wish all our families a very happy and healthy new year! We have all enjoyed a positive and colourful start back at school today.</p>

<p>Nursery, Reception and Year 1 children gave an amazing performance last Thursday and Friday for their families and friends. The staff and children worked very hard to put together a wonderful selection of Christmas songs and dances to tell the nativity story in very much a wriggly way!</p>

<p>The children enjoyed a very special visit from Father Christmas today. &nbsp;</p>

<p>We enjoyed learning about the importance of Christingles during Collective Worship with Rev Karen today and we look forward to making our own Christinges this week.</p>

<p>Roecliffe children have made a World Cup Christmas Tree for the Christmas Tree Festival which will be held at St James’s Church, Boroughbridge on 3rd and 4th December. Why don’t you pop along to see our tree?</p>
