<p>Year 1 have planned, designed and made their own healthy sandwiches this week as part of their DT lesson.</p>

<p>Class 3 children enjoyed a day of activity and wellbeing at Queen Ethelburga’s on Thursday. The children took part in tennis coaching and cricket coaching sessions and enjoyed watching Treasure Island performed by the students.</p>

<p>A huge well done to all our Class 2 and Class 3 children who took part in an athletics competition organised by Sporting Influence at Kirk Hammerton Primary School today.</p>

<p>Class 2 enjoyed their first forest school session yesterday, they had the perfect weather for lots of fun and learning in the forest! &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>…….and relax! Well done Year 6 for working your socks off at school and for being so mature this week in the KS2 SAT tests. You have all tried so hard to do your very best and we are very proud of you. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Thank you to Roecliffe parents and family members who are supporting our coronation event by joining us this afternoon at school and experiencing our children taking part in coronation activities for the last part of the afternoon. <p>Class 2 investigated how water travels through a plant. We added food colouring to the water and observed the changes on the flower.</p>

<p>Class 2 went for a walk to the woodland  to find evidence of the life cycle of flowering plants! &nbsp;</p>

<p>Well done to the children who took part in the Sporting Influence dodgeball competition today. The children played really well and were polite and considerate during their visit to Long Marston Primary School.</p>

<p>We enjoyed a very interesting and informative First Aid Day on Monday when we learned all the basics of first aid and how to help someone when they are injured or in an emergency.</p>

<p>Class 1 have had so much fun today learning all about what things used to be like at Roecliffe school from a past pupil. Thank you! &nbsp;</p>

<p>A huge thank you and well done to all our children who created masterpieces for the Easter Egg Competition. We have enjoyed looking at the ‘egg-stravanganza’ of amazing egg creations in our Collective Worship this afternoon.</p>

<p>Well done to our Year 6 children who entertained the residents at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home today by providing an Easter Egg Hunt with prizes and a lovely card. This was a thoughtful and kind act by our eldest children in school &#8211; well done Year 6!</p>

<p>What a super science week we have had at Roecliffe! Making glue, creating volcanoes and building nests are just some of the science tasks we have taken part in. To end our week of science activities the whole school took part in a marble run challenge today!</p>

<p>Thank you to Beth from Phunky Foods and our Wellbeing Ambassadors Betsy, Isla, Will M and Milosz who led some fit and active sessions with all our children across school on Tuesday. We all learned that just fifteen minutes of active fun each day can improve your fitness and strength.</p>
