Assessment and Results
Children are continually monitored and assessed throughout the year.
This enables us to build a profile of their level of development and targets for children to work towards.
In Reception children work with their teacher to complete a series of activities, these activities will indicate the level that each child is working at when they join us in Reception. This is known as the Reception Baseline Assessment. More formal assessment of achievement takes place at the end of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Children are assessed by their teacher and given standard assessment tasks SATs which show the level the child has attained in the National Curriculum subjects of English and Maths. Children in Y1 take a phonics assessment.
