Busy Bees!

01 Jul 2022

What a fantastic week we have had! We could not have fitted much more in if we tried!   Despite all the excitement, Class three have shown some fantastic learning behaviours throughout and have made the most of every opportunity!

Our trip to the mosque.

The children were greeted by our tour guide outside the mosque entrance and we looked together at all the features that showed us it was a special building. He told us all about how it had grown to the size it now is and told us about the features such as the green dome and the tall tower which in traditional mosques would have been used for the call to prayer.

Once inside we took our shoes off and stored them on the shoe racks, before walking quietly into the main prayer hall. This was a really peaceful place with beautiful carpet separated into individual prayer mats . Our guide then taught us about the features in the hall such as the direction of prayer - facing Mecca. The children asked some really great questions and shared their knowledge really well.

We then explored the mosque further by going upstairs and seeing the women's prayer space and the space where the Muslim children go after their normal school, to learn how to read the Qu'ran. This was really fascinating and seeing the writing in Arabic was brilliant! We really wanted to know what it said!

The trip was such a valuable experience for the children and we would like to say thank you for supporting us in covering the cost. The Muslim community really welcomed us on Tuesday and it was a very memorable learning experience for us all!

Pupil Voice Rounders

The pupils enjoyed a fabulous afternoon in their pupil voice teams on Wednesday playing rounders. The children are getting very adept at getting into their teams and it is lovely to see the older pupils always supporting and encouraging the younger children in their teams.

It was an action packed afternoon and all the children managed to have a go at plenty of bowling, batting and fielding during their three games. There are more pictures on our whole school news page for you to have a look at too.

Lots more happening over the next few weeks... keep an eye on the school calendar. Thank you for your support!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs Lewis & Miss Rogers 😊
