RE - Christian Festival of Easter (This work is to be submitted please.)

Teams Call - 2pm We will be thinking about our RE topic. Please read/listen to the powerpoint about Easter on teams before the call.

As ever today we would like you to read for at least 30 minutes and complete your AR quiz and have some physical exercise today – remember extra ideas and information about these are on the home learning tab.

English

Today we will continue our BFG English Unit.

In this lesson, we will analyse the opening scene of The BFG and generate vocabulary to describe the setting, what we can hear and what we can see. We will then think about how we feel when we watch the opening and how we can reflect this in our writing.

This link is also on Teams.

Maths

Please complete 5 sessions on TT Rock Stars Daily.

Remember if you can't print off the sheet don’t worry just make sure you write the question number and sum in your book.

You can mark your own work when you have finished it by looking on Teams, on the files tab for today's answer sheet.

Year 3

Today you are recaping work you have previously completed on your two times tables which will help you move on to your 4 times tables!

Parents Note:

Children should be comfortable with the concept of multiplication now so they can apply this to the multiplication tables. Images as well as number tracks can be used to encourage counting in 2.

What do Christians celebrate at Easter?

Today we will consider the Christian festival of Easter.

I would like you to learn about the story behind the Easter celebrations, to  understand better some of the events of Holy week and the importance of this festival for Christian believers.

I have put a Powerpoint i
n teams that is a modern retelling of the events. I have recorded each page if you would prefer to hear it read aloud. Just click on the sound button on each page.  (look at the files section of teams - class materials- Festivals Easter.)

In our call this afternoon we will think more about the Christian symbol of the cross and how this is linked to the resurrection of Jesus. so this afternoon, I would like you to draw or make a cross. There are many ideas for how you might do this. I have included a template if you would like to use itr t, ohere are some creative ideas on Christian crosses from around the world in the following powerpoint.

  -Crosses around the world.pptx-

Template if needed:

  -Activity Sheet Tissue Paper Cross-Editable.doc-

Your work should represent the Christian symbol of the cross whilst also celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. (This activity can be completed before or after our call, but I would like to see them all please!)

Any problems just email class3@gfschools.co.uk I will get back to you as soon as I can. Don't forget to send me your RE Cross please. See you at 2pm for our teams call.
