Week 3 - 25/9/20

25 Sep 2020

This week has been a busy week in Class Three we are used to our new routines and timetable and are still impressing both of our teachers with our attitudes to learning. Lots of us have been given roles of responsibility around our classroom and we are all busy trying hard to earn lots of Dojo points.

Each morning with Miss Rogers we start off with a ‘Number of the Day’ which is where we quickly answer a set of questions about that day’s number. This helps us revise our quick maths facts and makes sure we are ready to learn after we have done the register. Here is an example of some of the questions we might answer.

In English this week we have continued to look at the film ‘Ride of Passage’ and this week we have looked at writing different sentences before we put all our work together to write our own version of the story. We decided that our stories should include adjectives, adverbs, exciting sentences, punctuation and our writing should be neat!

In theme we came up with lots of questions that we wanted to find out the answers to and this week we have been focusing on the questions ‘what were their houses like?’ We have used books and the internet to find out what the houses would have been like. As the Stone Age was such a long period in time the houses were different in different parts of the Stone Age.

As the weather has turned autumnal this week it is really important that all the children have appropriate footwear and clothing with them at school, we have had a few children come in without coats this week. Due to being in one place all day we are trying to send the children out at break and lunch to get fresh air so a coat is vital in the cold/wet weather.

If your child is absent from school at any point due to Covid-19 please see the home learning tab, on the Class 3 page, which has work for both short absences and 2 week absences.

If you have any questions please ask.
