Good Morning Class Three, I thought I would start this mornings webpage with a joke….

“What did one pencil say to the other pencil?” – answer at the bottom ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope you had a good day yesterday. Well done to all those who had a go at yesterdays tasks. I have to give a big shout out to Fraya, Abbey, Seth, Ava and Max B for their amazing Tundra Adaptation leaflets ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Yesterdays word jumble was really good – I had a lot of emails with lots of amazing words that you had found. I was really impressed with Chloe E and Florence who managed to get the highest number (a joint first).

These are your tasks for today. Please remember that if you don't get all the tasks done each day then that is absolutely fine. Some tasks will take longer than others and if you're really enjoying a task, you may choose to spend longer on that than others which I'm perfectly happy with so please don't worry ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Maths
I was really impressed, yesterday, with Hannah who came first in our class competition on SumDog, closely followed by Eliza S and Florence, so very well done to you three!! Our Wednesday challenge winners were Seth, Harriet, Max J and Noah so very well done to you guys as well. I also had some great scores from the mental maths challenge so very well done to Chloe E, Florence and Tom.

Today, I’d like you to have a go at these multiplication and fraction colouring sheets. Take your time with them – don’t worry if you have to use a different colour than the one it says, just change it on the worksheet.

Copy the link into your web browser and then print out the picture. I’ll send out the answers on Friday.

Reading
Today, I would like you to have a go at the reading practice section of SumDog. I have set a couple of challenges for you to have a go at. Don’t forget to keep going with your AR quizzes as there’s only a short amount of time left to reach those targets. Massive well done to those of you who are still having a go.

Spellings
Choose 15 of the year 3 /4 common exception words that you are unfamiliar with and write a descriptive sentence, using each one, in your workbooks.

Writing
Lo
g on to your Purple Mash account and complete the ‘2do task’. Today’s task is to complete some research around Easter and the Easter celebration – think about why it is important to Christians and why we celebrate Easter. Try to include as much information and detail as you can. If Purple mash doesn’t work properly, or you would rather complete the task in your workbooks and email me a photo or attachment, that is fine ๐Ÿ˜Š.

PE

It has been great to hear about all the exercises you have been doing with Joe, keep it up. I have also attached another link that has been sent by one of our PE coaches at Grewelthorpe, so why not have a go at that as well.

Learning Project Focus: Our Local Area

The project this week aims to provide opportunities for you to learn more about the area in which you live. Learning may focus on your local area, famous people, key landmarks and links to your city.

Let’s Wonder:

Think about your street. What type of houses are on your street? What type of house do you live in? What other buildings are close by? Find out about your local area, what different buildings does it have? How old are some of those buildings? How have they changed over time? Use a map to locate different places. Look on โ€‹
Google Earthโ€‹. Draw your own map of their local area.

Let’s Create:

Choose a building you most admire in your local area. Make a model of that building using materials of your choice. (Playdough, โ€‹junk modelingโ€‹, lego etc…..) Reflect on your creation: How well did you do? What would you do differently next time? What have you learned by making this?

Be Active:

Try and be as active as you can daily! Make sure you get outside and exercise every day if possible or try out online exercise classes like Joe Wickes! Get out into the garden, pull up some weeds or mow the lawn? (With parental guidance!) Does your garden need a tidy up? Maybe you could plant some seeds.

Time to Talk:

Were your family members all born in this local area? If not, how is their place of birth different to your own local area? If they were, how different is the local area since they were born? Talk about their memories of how it has changed.

Understanding Others and Appreciating Differences:

Research different places of worship that can be found in our local area. Can you find their nearest Church? Mosque? Synagogue? Temple? Gurdwara? What can you find out about them? Draw pictures and label them with any information they find out.

 Reflectโ€‹:
Think about what would improve the local area? What is our local area lacking? What spoils your local area? What could be done?

I hope you have enjoyed todays activities, I look forward to seeing / hearing all about them. I hope you are all keeping well and looking after your Mums and Dads. Take care, keep safe and remember to get some fresh air and exercise!

See you soon ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜Š
