Class 2 - Letters, Lists and Our Local Area

26 Mar 2021

In English this week, we have been writing lists and letters.   We shared ‘The Jolly Postman’ story and enjoyed reading all the letters that the fairy tale characters received.  Year One wrote some lists showing all the different drinks and food that the postman was given, when he visited each of the characters:

Last week, we recieved a letter from some pirates who asked us what the land provides in our local area. In our geography lessons, we have been investigating this question.  Here are some ideas collected by Year One:

Year Two have been learning how to use commas to separate items in a list within a sentence.  They tried hard to use this knowledge in their letters to the pirates:

We made some maps to help the pirates to find their way around our local area:

We’ve also been thinking about Easter and exploring all the signs of new life at this time of year.  We noticed that plants and trees have begun to have flowers and there are some lambs in the fields.  We planted sunflower seeds with Mrs Goss this week and  learnt that the plants need water and sunlight to grow.

Summer was also delighted to share her exciting news this week about a very special new arrival, as her little baby brother has been born. Many congratulations to Summer and her family!

What a busy week!   Thank you for working so hard everyone.
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter.  See you after the holidays!
